SMALL LEAF PUER
SMALL LEAF PUER
This ripe Puer brews a powerful, dark, and energetic cup. Instantly warming and invigorating. Bold flavors of cocoa and charred wood. A bit sweet, a bit savory - smooth and silky. If you’re new to Puer, this is the one to try first!
The defining characteristic of Puer is that it’s aged, and it’s flavor and character develops from this aging process. There are two types of Puer: Raw (Sheng) and Ripe (Shou) are differentiated by how the aging occurs. Raw Puer ages naturally over time. Ripe Puer is aged at an intentionally accelerated rate - using a process called “Wet Piling”. This Ripe Puer is from Southwest Yunnan Province, China and was harvested and processed in the early 2000’s.

PREPARATION
1 tbsp - 8oz - 200˚ water
3 minutes for first 2 infusions, and 5 minutes for each additional infusion.
Adjust amount of leaves and steep time to taste. Varying the water temperature isn't recommended - water that is too hot will over-extract the bitter components of tea, while water that is too cool might not fully draw out the flavors and aromas.
TRADITIONAL PREPARATION
If using a Gaiwan or Yixing pot: Fill 1/4 with tea leaves. 200˚ water. Rinse leaves and steep for 15 seconds for the first 3 infusions, then add 15 seconds for each additional infusion.
